How to manage your horse's health in StalliQ: Open the horse profile and select the "Health" tab. There you'll find several areas: health record (with separate tiles for veterinarian, dental, vaccinations, deworming, farrier and other treatments), document symptoms, allergies & intolerances, chronic conditions, weight history, feed & medication (a standing care plan), insurance, Doc Scan (AI-powered document recognition) and health record export as a PDF. All entries flow together into a chronological health timeline. In addition, there's the emergency record - a curated short overview of the most important emergency info, prominently placed at the top of the horse profile's Overview tab.
What does the Health tab show?
The Health tab is set up as a tile overview. Each tile shows the number of entries and notices (e.g. "Overdue" for pending vaccinations). Treatment types each have their own tile - veterinarian, dental, other treatments, vaccinations, deworming and farrier are therefore separate tiles, not bundled into a single one. The tiles at a glance:
- Symptoms - Active symptoms with current severity
- Health record - Opens the chronological health timeline (read-only overview of all entries)
- Veterinarian, Dental, Other treatments, Vaccinations, Deworming, Farrier - one separate tile each for the respective treatment type
- Allergies - Active allergies with severity
- Chronic conditions - Active conditions with status (Active/In remission)
- Weight - Latest entry with trend (gain/loss/stable) and weight history as a chart
- Feed & medication - standing care plan (feed, medication, supplements) from which recurring tasks can be derived
- Insurance - Manage policies, AI policy scan, coverage highlights
- Doc Scan - Scan documents with AI and evaluate them automatically
The emergency record is not a health tile but a curated, read-only emergency overview placed prominently at the top of the horse profile's Overview tab (see below).
Via the "Health record" tile you reach the health timeline (once opened it is titled "Health Timeline"): a chronological view of all entries, filterable by category. From there you can also export the health record as a PDF - for the vet or the insurance company.
How do I keep the health record?
The health record documents all treatments and preventive appointments for your horse. StalliQ offers 11 categories: veterinarian, dental, other treatment (e.g. osteopath, physiotherapist, naturopath, chiropractor), vaccination, deworming, farrier, injury, illness, surgery, prevention and other. After saving an entry, StalliQ automatically suggests a follow-up appointment (e.g. next vaccination in 12 months).

How do I document symptoms?
Symptoms are recorded with category (e.g. lameness, signs of colic), severity (1-5), description and an optional photo. Via the observation history you can document the development of a symptom over time - each new observation is saved as an entry with date, severity and photo. A sparkline chart shows the severity progression at a glance.

How do I record allergies and chronic conditions?
Allergies are recorded with name, type (feed, medication, environment, contact, other), severity (Mild/Moderate/Severe) and reaction description. Chronic conditions (e.g. Cushing's, EMS, arthritis, laminitis) are documented with diagnosis, treatment and medication and can be marked as "Active" or "In remission".

How do I maintain feed & medication?

What is the emergency record?
The emergency record is a read-only short overview of the most important emergency information for your horse - intended for stand-ins and emergencies. It bundles key data (e.g. allergies, chronic conditions, current medication, vet and emergency contacts) along with the PDF and equine passport in one prominent place. The emergency record is visible to everyone involved with the horse and is included in both FREE and PRO.

What is the Doc Scan?
With the Doc Scan you photograph vet bills, vaccination passports or findings, and the AI (Claude Vision) automatically extracts: date, issuer, diagnoses, treatments, medications, costs and the next appointment. You review the recognized data and can use it to create a health entry, a cost record and a follow-up appointment with a single tap.
Each scan uses one AI credit. The document AI is available as a feature from the PLUS plan (also in PRO). On PLUS you get 15 AI credits per month, on PRO 50. Details under Pricing and plans.
How do I manage insurance?
StalliQ supports 8 insurance types: surgery, health, combined (full health), liability, life, theft, transport and other. You can add insurance policies manually or have them filled in automatically via policy scan (AI). StalliQ knows 32 insurers in the DACH region with all current tariffs and shows coverage highlights and tariff updates for health insurance.

You choose between a compact (text) and a full report (with photos) and can narrow down the time period.

Frequently asked questions
Does StalliQ replace the vet?
No. StalliQ is a documentation tool, not medical advice. The app helps you document symptoms, treatments and medications without gaps - but for acute symptoms you should always contact a vet.
How do I see all health data at a glance in StalliQ?
Open the horse profile, go to the "Health" tab and tap the "Health record" tile. The health timeline (titled "Health Timeline") shows all entries (health record, symptoms, allergies, weight) sorted chronologically. You can filter by category.
Can I share health data in StalliQ with my vet?
Yes. Share your horse with your vet (role "Veterinarian" under horse profile → Sharing). They can then view the health data and create entries themselves. Alternatively, you can export all data as a file via the data export (More tab → Settings).
Is health data stored encrypted in StalliQ?
Yes. All health data is transmitted encrypted (TLS) and stored on European servers (Frankfurt). Access is limited to the owner and authorized people via row-level security. StalliQ processes health data only with your explicit consent (requested during onboarding).
