Here's how to create an appointment in StalliQ: Open the Calendar tab, tap the turquoise plus button, enter a title, choose the horse and optionally an appointment type (vet, farrier, vaccination, etc.), and tap "Save". StalliQ offers a month view with an inline calendar, push reminders (up to 1 week in advance), and recurring appointments for regular visits like the farrier or vaccinations.
What does the calendar in StalliQ look like?
The Calendar tab shows an interactive month view. Days with appointments are marked with colored dots. Tap a day to see all appointments from that date onwards as a list.
At the top you'll find the navigation: arrows to page forward and back between months, a "Today" button to jump to the current day, and a month picker (tap the month name). If you have several horses, a horse filter appears - so you only see appointments for the selected horse.
How do I create a new appointment?
In the Calendar tab, tap the turquoise plus button at the bottom right. The form contains the following fields:
Required fields:
- Title - e.g. "Annual vaccination" or "Routine check-up"
- Horse - choose the horse the appointment belongs to
Optional fields:
- Appointment type - the kind of appointment (see next section). Can also be deselected entirely.
- Date - date picker, prefilled with the day selected in the calendar
- Time - hidden when "All day" is enabled
- All day - toggle for all-day appointments
- Duration (minutes) - 60 minutes by default
- Location - free text
- Service provider - choose a saved contact or create a new one
- Notes - free text for additional information
- Reminder - push notification before the appointment
- Repeat - repeat pattern for recurring appointments
Tap "Save" at the top right.
What appointment types are there?
StalliQ offers nine appointment types, each with its own icon and color:
- Vet - general examinations and treatments
- Farrier - hoof care and shoeing
- Dentist - dental treatments
- Vaccination - vaccination appointments (tetanus, influenza, herpes, etc.)
- Deworming - worming treatments
- Other treatment - other veterinary or therapeutic treatments
- Trainer - training sessions
- Competition - shows and competitions
- Other - all other appointments
How do I set a reminder?
In the appointment form under "Reminder", you choose from five options:
- None - no push notification
- Same day - notification on the day of the appointment
- 1 day before - reminder 24 hours in advance
- 3 days before - reminder 3 days in advance
- 1 week before - reminder 7 days in advance
You receive the reminder as a push notification on your smartphone. Requirement: push notifications must be enabled in the app settings and in your device settings. Quiet hours (configurable under More → Settings → Notifications) are respected.
How do I create recurring appointments?
In the appointment form, enable the "Repeat" section. There you set up the repetition flexibly:
- Frequency - Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly
- Interval - "Every X ..." field for your own spacing (e.g. "Every 2 weeks" or "Every 6 months")
- Weekdays - only selectable with the "Weekly" frequency (Mon-Sun)
- Ends - Never, after a certain number of appointments, or up to a date
This way you combine frequency and interval into any rhythm you like, such as "Every 3 weeks" or "Every 6 months".
Recurring appointments appear in the calendar on all scheduled days. You can edit or delete individual occurrences without changing the whole series.
How do I edit an existing appointment?
In the calendar, tap the appointment - the edit form opens directly. You can change any field. For recurring appointments, your change applies by default only to that single occurrence; a note in the form points this out. You manage the whole series via the delete options (see below).
After a treatment, you can document the results in the "Result / Findings" field - that way you have the treatment history right at the appointment.
Frequently asked questions
How do I see only the appointments of a specific horse in StalliQ?
In the calendar, tap the horse filter at the top (shows "All horses" by default). Select the horse you want - the calendar then shows only its appointments. Alternatively, you'll find all of a horse's appointments in the horse profile under the "Appointments" tab.
Can I see appointments for several horses at once in StalliQ?
Yes, that's the default view. The calendar shows appointments for all horses with colored dots. In the appointment list, the horse's name is shown next to each entry. You can narrow it down to a single horse at any time using the horse filter.
How do I delete a recurring appointment in StalliQ?
Tap one of the recurring appointments and choose "Delete". You'll be asked: "This appointment only", "All future appointments", or "Delete entire series". Choose the right option. With the first two options, past appointments in the series are kept.
Are appointments in StalliQ automatically linked to the health record?
When you create a health entry (vet, vaccination, etc.), StalliQ suggests a follow-up appointment - e.g. the next vaccination in 12 months or the next farrier appointment in 6 weeks. This is then created as a regular calendar appointment with a reminder.
