Here's how to create a public event in StalliQ: Go to More → Events and tap the plus button. The 4-step wizard walks you through it: Basics (including booking mode), Venue, Details & Rules, and Fees & Time Slots. Each published event uses one event credit. You'll need the PRO plan (3 credits/month) or a Stall plan.
Requirements
- PRO plan (€9.99/month, 3 event credits) or a Stall plan (5-50 credits depending on tier)
- At least 1 event credit available
- Optional: stable connection - if you pick a StalliQ stable in the "Venue" step, the credits come from the stable quota; with "At another location" they come from your PRO quota
How do I create an event?
The event creation wizard has four steps:
Step 1 - Basics:
- Title - name of the event (e.g. "Dressage clinic with Max Mustermann")
- Description - a detailed description
- Date and time - start and, if applicable, end
- Booking mode - "Self-Select" or "Organizer Assigns" (see below). You can't change this decision once the event is published
- Multiple entries allowed - participants can book several slots (e.g. dressage and jumping on the same day)
- Skill levels - which levels are allowed for the entire event (e.g. E, E/A, A*). The skill levels apply to the whole event, not per slot
The booking mode determines how participants get their starting spots:
Self-Select: Participants see all available slots and pick their own. Ideal for clinics and courses with fixed time windows where the order of sign-up matters (e.g. morning / afternoon).
Organizer Assigns: Participants sign up for the event without picking a slot. You see all sign-ups and assign the slots yourself - e.g. by skill level, horse or organizational considerations. Only when you tap "Release" do participants learn their slot via push notification. Ideal for tournaments and tests where you set the starting order.
Whether sign-ups are confirmed instantly doesn't depend on the booking mode but on the separate "Auto Confirm" / "Manual Confirm" setting in step 3 (default: automatic). With manual confirmation you confirm each sign-up individually - even with Self-Select.
Step 2 - Venue:
- Venue - via the "At a StalliQ stable" / "At another location" toggle. For a StalliQ stable the stable address is filled in automatically (name, address, postal code, city); with "At another location" you enter the venue as free text
- Visibility (only for a StalliQ stable):
- Public - visible to all StalliQ users in the Discover view. Uses 1 event credit
- Stable members only - visible only to members of your stable (marked with a lock icon). Uses no event credits - ideal for internal clinics, stable championships or courses
Step 3 - Details & Rules:
- Max. participants - the overall spot limit for the event
- Waitlist - sign-ups beyond the limit move up when spots open up
- Own horse required - whether participants must specify a horse when booking
- Disciplines - e.g. dressage, jumping
- Registration deadline - until when bookings can be made
- Cancellation deadline - the period during which cancellation is free
- Auto Confirm / Manual Confirm - default: automatic (sign-ups are confirmed immediately); with manual confirmation you confirm each sign-up individually
- Contact - email and phone for inquiries
Step 4 - Fees & Time Slots: Slots are the individual time windows or starting spots of your event. For each slot you set:
- Name - e.g. "Morning" or "Test E"
- Date as well as start and end time - optional: shown or marked as "time to be announced"
- Max. participants - the spot limit per slot
Check the preview and tap "Publish".
Stable quota or PRO quota?
Which credits an event uses follows from the context and venue choices you make while creating it:
If you are a stable admin (e.g. stable owner and PRO user at the same time), tapping the plus button first shows a selection sheet "Create event for". There you pick one of your stables or "Myself".
In the "Venue" step you then use the "At a StalliQ stable" or "At another location" toggle:
At a StalliQ stable: Event credits come from the stable quota. The stable address is filled in automatically as the venue. Makes sense for clinics and courses at your riding facility.
At another location: Event credits come from your personal PRO quota. You enter the location freely. Makes sense for external events or events without a stable connection.
Hosting approval for stable members
If you want to create an event on behalf of your stable as a PRO riding instructor but aren't a manager/owner yourself, the event goes through a hosting approval flow: when you publish, a request goes to the stable manager, who has to approve your event before it goes live. You'll get a push notification once it's approved (or rejected). Until approval the event doesn't use a credit yet. Managers and owners can publish stable events directly without approval.
How do I manage bookings?
Under My Events → select an event you see all bookings. With auto confirmation (default) sign-ups are confirmed immediately; with manual confirmation you confirm each sign-up individually. With Organizer Assigns you see a list of all sign-ups and assign them to slots:
- Open the event and go to the participant view
- Tap a sign-up and pick the slot via the selection dialog ("Assign to..."). Change the order with "Move up" / "Move down"
- Tap "Release" (confirmation dialog "Release assignments?") - all participants get a push notification with their assigned slot
How do I cancel or delete an event?
Draft events (not yet published): can be deleted - no credit used.
Published events: can be cancelled via the "Cancel Event" button. All participants are notified automatically and their bookings are cancelled. The event credit used is not refunded.
How can I contact participants?
On the participant list you can tap individual participants and send them a direct message. StalliQ automatically creates a conversation between you and the participant.
Frequently asked questions
How many event credits do I get in StalliQ per month?
PRO users get 3 event credits/month. Stable operators get, depending on tier: S=5, M=10, L=20, XL=50 credits/month. You can buy additional credits: 5 for €9.99 or 15 for €19.99.
What does a participant see at my StalliQ event?
Participants see: title, description, date, location with address (tappable for navigation), available slots with open spots, skill levels and your name as the organizer. After booking, the event appears in their calendar.
Can I still change the booking mode of a published event in StalliQ?
No. Once published, the booking mode is locked, since bookings may already have come in. You'll see a note "Booking mode cannot be changed after publishing". In that case, create a new event.
How do I create an event with skill levels in StalliQ?
In step 1 (Basics) you set the skill levels for the entire event - they apply to the whole event, not per slot. StalliQ suggests the common equestrian classes: E, E/A, A, A*, A**/L, L, M, S. Participants only see events that match their level (if they belong to a stable with level assignment).
