Here's how to create an announcement in StalliQ: Go to the Stable tab, open the overview and tap the plus button in the Announcements area. Enter a title and content, choose the priority (Normal, Important or Urgent) and optionally a target group. Your members see the announcement on the stable noticeboard. A push notification is only sent for the "Urgent" priority; "Normal" and "Important" appear silently on the noticeboard only.
How do I create an announcement?
Tap the plus button in the Announcements area:
- Title - Short heading (e.g. "Arena closed")
- Content - Detailed description
- Priority - Determines how it's displayed and whether a push notification is sent:
- Normal (grey) - Standard messages, silent on the noticeboard only
- Important (orange) - Highlighted notes, silent on the noticeboard only
- Urgent (red) - Critical messages (displayed especially prominently). Only this priority triggers a push notification to the eligible members.
- Expiry date - Optional: the announcement is automatically hidden after this date
- Target group - Optional: only specific roles or skill levels (e.g. "Managers and riding instructors only")
Tap "Save". The announcement appears immediately on the noticeboard of all eligible members.
What do members see?
Members see announcements in the Stable tab under "Announcements" on the overview. Each announcement shows:
- Priority badge (colour-coded)
- Title and content
- Creation date
- Expiry date (if set)
- Target-group info (e.g. "Only for: Managers, Riding instructors")
Announcements are sorted chronologically - the newest at the top. If there are no announcements, it says "No announcements".
How does the weather push work?
If you've enabled the weather push feature, StalliQ automatically sends push notifications to the stable's responsible members (owners and managers) for special weather conditions on the following day. Regular members and shared riders don't receive the weather alerts. The values checked for tomorrow are:
- Frost - lowest temperature below 0°C expected
- Strong wind - maximum wind speed above 60 km/h
- Thunderstorm - thunderstorm warning (based on the weather code)
- Heat - highest temperature above 35°C
The weather widget on the stable overview shows a 3-day forecast for your stable's location. The forecast is based on the geo coordinates of your stable address.
How do I filter announcements by target group?
When creating an announcement, you can restrict who sees it under "Target group":
- All members - All stable members (default)
- By role - Only specific roles (e.g. only riding instructors, only managers)
- By skill level - Only members with a certain level (e.g. only advanced)
Members who aren't part of the target group don't see the announcement.
Frequently asked questions
Do members in StalliQ receive push notifications for announcements?
Only for the "Urgent" priority. When you create an announcement as "Urgent", the eligible members receive a push notification (provided their "Push notifications" master switch and the "Stable management" category are active). Announcements with the priority "Normal" or "Important" appear silently on the noticeboard only. Urgent announcements deliberately reach members even during their quiet hours.
Can I edit an announcement afterwards in StalliQ?
Yes. Tap the three-dot menu on the right of the announcement card and select "Edit". You can change the title, content, priority and expiry date. Tapping the card itself only expands the full text. The three-dot menu is only visible to members with the "Create announcements" permission. Push notifications that have already been sent are not recalled by an edit.
How do I delete an announcement in StalliQ?
Tap the three-dot menu on the right of the card and select "Delete". A confirmation prompt appears. The announcement then disappears from all members' noticeboards.
Do I need a stable subscription for announcements in StalliQ?
Reading the noticeboard is always possible, including in the Free tier. To create and edit announcements, the stable must be active (subscription, ongoing trial or beta). The automatic weather push also requires an active stable (subscription, trial or beta) with a correctly stored address for the weather forecast.
