How to share your horse in StalliQ: Open the horse profile and go to "Sharing". Enter the person's email address, pick a role (e.g. Part-time rider, Caretaker, Veterinarian) and tap "Send invitation". The person gets a notification, accepts the invitation, and then sees the horse in their horse list. The role you assign determines which data they can see and edit. To share a horse (even with just one person) you need the PLUS or PRO plan.
Which roles are there?
StalliQ offers seven roles with different default permissions:
- Owner - Full access, can see and edit everything, can delete the horse and invite others
- Co-Owner - Full visibility, can edit most data; editing finances and deleting the horse are off by default
- Part-time rider - Can view and create appointments (diary only if you grant it manually)
- Caretaker - Can manage health and appointments
- Trainer - Can manage training appointments
- Veterinarian - Can view and document health data
- Farrier - Can view the hoof history
How do I share a horse?
- Open the horse profile and tap "Sharing"
- Enter the person's email address (they need a StalliQ account)
- Pick a role from the list
- Tap "Send invitation"
The invited person sees the request under "Pending invitations" with the buttons "Accept" and "Decline", and additionally receives an inbox message (with push): "I've assigned [horse] to you as [role]. Open the Horses tab to accept or decline the invitation." After accepting, the horse appears in their horse list.
How do I configure the permissions?
Each role has default permissions that you can adjust. The permission categories:
- Basic data - The horse's master data (name, breed, date of birth, etc.)
- Health - Health record, symptoms, allergies, weight
- Finances - Costs and expenses
- Gallery - Manage photos
- Diary - Daily entries
- Appointments - Calendar entries
- Documents - Uploaded documents (e.g. insurance or health documents)
For each category you can allow or block read and write access separately.
How do I remove a shared person?
Open the horse profile → Sharing. In the list of shared people, tap the red trash icon next to the person (or press and hold the entry) and confirm with "Remove". The person immediately loses access to the horse. (If you tap the name as the owner, the person's permissions screen opens instead.)
How do I stop sharing as a shared person?
If someone has shared their horse with you and you no longer want access: open the horse profile, tap the people icon (Sharing) at the top, and in the list tap the red trash icon on your own row. Then confirm with "Leave". The horse disappears from your list, and the owner's data stays untouched.
There is no full-width red "Stop sharing" button. Note: the sharing icon only appears if your role has the right to invite. Shared default roles (e.g. Part-time rider, Caretaker, Trainer, Veterinarian, Farrier) usually do not have it and therefore won't see the icon.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a subscription in StalliQ to share a horse?
To share with multiple people you need the PLUS or PRO plan (multi-user sharing). With the FREE plan you cannot share a horse. The invited person does not need a paid plan - a FREE account is enough.
Can the invited person delete my horse in StalliQ?
No. Only the owner can delete the horse. Co-Owners cannot delete it either. Shared people can only edit the data their role has write access to.
Does my part-time rider see my horse's costs in StalliQ?
Not by default. The "Part-time rider" role has no finance permission. But you can adjust the permissions and set Finances to "Read" if you want your part-time rider to be able to see the costs.
What happens to shared data when I remove the person in StalliQ?
The person immediately loses access. Entries they created (e.g. appointments, health entries) are kept and assigned to the horse, not the person.
