Equipment management lets you record your durable gear - saddle, bridle, blanket, boots and more -, assign it to your horses, and lend individual items to other StalliQ users. That way you always know what you own and who currently has what.
Where do I find my equipment?
There are two entry points:
- My equipment: Open the More tab. Right below your profile you'll find four quick links - tap Equipment. Here you'll see all your items.
- On the horse: Open a horse profile and switch to the Equipment tab. The list is then filtered to the equipment assigned to that horse.
Adding equipment
- In the equipment list, tap the + button in the bottom right.
- Enter a name (e.g. "Jumping saddle" or "Winter blanket 145 cm").
- Choose a category - either a preset (saddle, bridle, blanket …) or create your own.
- Optional: add a note and a photo.
- Assign the equipment to one or more horses.
Customizing categories
In addition to the presets you can create your own categories. You can rename or delete a custom category: press and hold the category in the form and choose the action you want.
- Renaming automatically carries over all assigned items.
- Deleting resets assigned items to "Other" - so they aren't lost.
- The built-in presets cannot be changed.
Lending equipment
- Open the item and tap Lend.
- Choose the person. Only users you can also message appear (e.g. stable members or people you share a horse with).
- Optional: set a return date.
The borrower is informed via notification and push. The item then appears as lent out. An item that is already lent out cannot be lent a second time until it has been returned.
Taking lent equipment back
Returning happens in two steps:
- The borrower opens the item and taps Report return.
- The owner receives a notification and confirms the return with Confirm return.
If there is no report from the borrower, the owner can also end the loan directly via Returned. After that the item appears as available again and can be lent out once more. There is currently no viewable list of past loans - only the loan that is currently active is shown.
Filtering the list
In the "My equipment" overview you can filter by status. There are three status filters:
- All - your complete equipment
- Lent out - everything you are currently lending out
- Lent to me - what others have lent to you
In addition, a separate category bar appears (starting with All categories plus one entry per existing category) as soon as you have items in more than one category. It is available in your own views, but not in the "Lent to me" view.
Who can see my equipment?
Your equipment is visible to:
- you as the owner,
- users with access to the assigned horse (e.g. a horse sharer),
- the current borrower, while the loan is active.
By the way, a horse sharer can also add their own equipment for the horse - they then become the owner of that item.
Frequently asked questions
Is equipment management free?
Yes. Equipment management including lending is included in the free FREE plan.
Does StalliQ take liability for lent equipment?
No. StalliQ only provides the technical platform for documentation. Any loan agreement is made directly between lender and borrower - you arrange the terms (duration, condition, liability) among yourselves. Details can be found in the Terms of Service (Section 6a).
What happens to an active loan if someone leaves the stable?
An active loan remains in place, even if a party leaves the stable or the horse share. You can mark the item as returned at any time.
Can I assign one item to several horses?
Yes. A saddle that fits two horses can be assigned to both and will then appear in both horses' tabs.
