Creating and assigning tasks in StalliQ

As of: June 2026 · App version 1.0.0+ · Last verified: 25/06/2026

Tasks help you stay on top of recurring to-dos around horse and stable - feeding, mucking out, turnout, box care. You create a task personally, for a horse or for the whole stable, assign people in charge and schedule it once or recurring. Overdue tasks remind you automatically.

Where do I find tasks?

There are several entry points:

Creating a task

  1. Tap the + button. In the calendar or on the horse it first asks Event or task? - choose Task.
  2. Enter a title and optionally a description.
  3. Set the context: personal, assigned to a horse or a stable. If there is only one possible option (e.g. only one horse), it is selected automatically.
  4. Set a due date (see the next section - with or without a time).
  5. Choose a recurrence: one-off or recurring (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly - with an interval and an optional end date or count).
  6. Assign people in charge.

Note: The context (horse/stable) and the recurrence cannot be changed after creation - in the app as well as in the web portal. You can adjust title, description and assignees at any time.

Setting the due date: with or without a time

By default a task has a due date with a time. When creating/editing in the mobile app there is an additional No time switch:

Limitation: The No time option is currently reserved for the mobile app. The web portal always requires date + time in the form.

Assigning people in charge

Whoever creates a task is always also in charge of it. In addition, you can assign other people - they then see the task in their own task list. This is how you split, say, the weekly feeding plan across several people.

Tasks from the supply plan

From the feed & medication supply plan you can optionally derive recurring tasks - one task per time of day. That way the due supply steps automatically show up in your task list.

Checking tasks off

You check off open tasks with one tap. For recurring tasks, each individual occurrence is checked off separately - the next occurrence stays open and reappears at its time. In the detail view you can also reopen a checked-off occurrence.

Who completed a task?

In the task detail view of the mobile app you can see who checked a task off: Completed by [name] on [date] - also per individual occurrence of recurring tasks. This is visible to every assigned (responsible) person as well as to the owner/admin of the task. If the name cannot be resolved, it just reads Completed on [date].

Limitation: The Completed by [name] display is currently reserved for the mobile app. The web portal shows completed occurrences with the date only.

Mine vs. distributed tasks

The Mine / Distributed split applies in the global task hub (app and web portal). Two segments separate the view there:

Within both views, tasks are grouped into Overdue, Open and Done.

In the context tabs on the horse and in the stable there is no such split: there all linked tasks are shown - including the ones you created yourself.

Reminders when overdue

If a task is not completed on time, the people in charge automatically receive a push reminder. This also applies to recurring tasks - here you are reminded per missed occurrence. Your quiet hours (More → Settings → Notifications) are respected.

Frequently asked questions

Are tasks free?

Yes. Task management is included in the free FREE plan.

Can I create personal tasks without a horse or stable?

Yes. A task can also be purely personal, with no link to a horse or stable.

Why can't I change the context and recurrence afterwards?

This is by design: the context and the recurrence rule form the backbone of a task series. If these change fundamentally, it's best to create the task anew.

Who gets reminded about an overdue task?

All people in charge of the task receive the push reminder - that is, the creator and everyone additionally assigned.

Can I manage tasks in the web portal too?

Yes. At portal.stalliq.app there is a sidebar entry Tasks with a table overview (Mine / Distributed toggle, check off per row), a detail view (check off or reopen occurrences) and a form for creating tasks. Two functions are currently only available in the mobile app: the No time switch and the Completed by [name] display.

What does "No time" mean?

With the No time switch (mobile app) you set a task to only have a due date - without a specific time. The list then shows No time instead of a time.
